My name is Michael Salsone. I am a security engineer living in Austin, TX. I currently work for Compass.

I was born and raised in the Great White North (New York); before eventually finding my way to the frozen wasteland that was RIT.

I am passionate about building secure, scalable systems; developing solutions that balance reliability and velocity with security.

Technical problems in the product and platform security space are particularly interesting. Whether that’s building out new capabilities and automation, helping to secure platforms that run code, or finding ways to abuse those systems.

Recently my time has been spent building people and code. I equally enjoy doing both. Work is made better by collaborating with passionate people.

I value autonomy above all else. Having a goal and the freedom to pursue it drives me. I love working with open source projects and contributing back whenever possible.

In my personal life I enjoy messing around with 3D printing, woodworking, and various CNC devices. I’ve got two awesome dogs who often distract me from what I am doing :)
